Lantern Hollow

Lantern Hollow is a warm, hand-drawn adventure about a traveller who wanders into a village that's clearly hiding something. You tap around gorgeous painted scenes, talk to odd residents, and solve puzzles built into the world rather than bolted on.

The puzzles are fair — they mostly ask you to pay attention to conversations and the environment, not to try every item on every object. I got stuck twice and both times the answer was right there once I reread a line of dialogue. That's good design.

It's short, maybe four hours, but every scene is crafted. This is the one on the list I'd recommend first to someone who 'doesn't play phone games'.
